"Street Play" is a portrait of children creating space for themselves in a city where there is none and inventing their own playground in the street. Set in two congested neighborhoods in Beirut, Malaab Baladi and Manara, the film depicts children playing in the streets and interacting with particular elements in their surroundings.

Born in December 1976, of Danish and Lebanese parents, Samar Kanafani received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology-Anthropology from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. She has worked as a journalist, covering sociological facts in Daily star newspaper in Lebanon.  “Street Play” is her first film.
